In this role, you will work directly with contentious issues as they arise, collaborate with partners from different communities, and move among the legislature, NGOs, the media, academia, and government agencies. Grounded in a commitment to defending human rights, you will connect resources and advance reform advocacy, helping turn your ideals into change on the ground. If you want to see change-and help make it happen-and are passionate about using law to improve society, we'd love to have you join us!
This Legal Specialist role is different from conventional legal-administrative work. It calls for initiative and independent thinking, including the ability to bring new ideas to ongoing projects. The work generally falls into the following four areas (these are not intended to represent the workload of a single person).
- Project Management: Plan projects centered on legislative reform, track progress, manage schedules, and organize documents and files.
- Case Assistance: Support complaint and wrongful-conviction cases, manage cases and timelines, and answer calls to the complaint center.
- Meeting Coordination: Schedule meetings, take meeting minutes, and share news and internal information.
- Resource Coordination: Share news, internal information, and updates from other project teams, and help foster a collaborative environment with open communication.
