Since the outbreak of the #MeToo movement, public attention toward gender rights has reached unprecedented heights. The Judicial Reform Foundation (hereinafter referred to as "JRF") has long focused on the interaction between gender equality and the judicial system. In the past, through interviews with parties involved—such as in the newsletter "Difficulties under the Sun"—and documentary filming, JRF has gained an in-depth understanding of the structural dilemmas victims face within judicial proceedings. To respond to practical needs, JRF also compiled and published "What to Do When Accused of Defamation After Exposing #MeToo?", hoping it can serve as a guide for parties navigating the legal labyrinth.

However, institutional reform cannot be limited to legal remedies alone; it must also be deeply rooted in education and culture. In the current "Post-#MeToo Era," we observe a tension between judicial rulings, social perceptions, and educational settings.

Serving as a co-organizer this time, JRF is joining forces with the Graduate Institute of Gender Education at National Kaohsiung Normal University to promote this seminar, aiming to integrate the two fields of "legal practice" and "gender education" for cross-disciplinary communication on the following issues:

  • Responses of the Judicial System: How can a gender-friendly judicial environment be realized under the premise of safeguarding due process of law?

  • Connection with Educational Settings: How can gender education respond to institutional reforms and social conflicts in the post-#MeToo era?

We look forward to transforming observations from the practical field into momentum for institutional reform through this seminar. Legal practitioners, educators, and the public concerned with this issue are warmly welcome to participate.
