To obtain a New York State attorney license, in addition to passing the bar exam, applicants must submit proof of 50 hours of pro bono service (50-hour Pro Bono Requirement) upon application for admission.

JRF welcomes everyone to participate in our work! In recent years, dozens of lawyers or law students have completed their hours with us annually.

Applicants may choose to sign up for shifts at our office to experience NGO work firsthand, or they can take on case reviews (such as wrongful conviction cases and evaluation cases, etc.), translation tasks, or related research projects to complete at home—these can also be combined. The content of the pro bono service will be arranged according to the cases and priority issues being handled by the foundation at the time of application, while also accommodating the applicant's interests.

Since 2021, JRF has also established an international department. We look forward to internationalizing domestic judicial reform issues and drawing upon foreign experiences in various judicial reform topics. In addition to visiting our official website to learn about our domestic work, we warmly invite you to participate more in our international work.
