Volunteer Lawyer Recruitment
Since its establishment in 1995, the Judicial Reform Foundation (JRF) has worked from promoting the display of judges' nameplates on the bench to establishing the evaluation system for judges and prosecutors and setting up a complaint center, with the vision of building a "judiciary worthy of the people's trust."
The JRF aspires to be a more influential platform that allows every person on this land to enjoy the right to a fair trial as naturally as air; to provide Taiwanese society with a firm and enduring supervisory force that prevents those in power from abusing their authority; and to make the judiciary courageous enough to acknowledge its own imperfections, so that wrongful convictions can be vindicated and systems can be continuously reformed.
This year marks the JRF's 30th anniversary. In addition to traditional issues such as wrongful conviction rescue, the supervision of incompetent judges and prosecutors, and legal education, we have, in response to the developments of our times, worked diligently in gender equality and international cooperation. Digital rule of law, which has received much attention in recent years, is also an area of our focus!
JRF committee meetings are held approximately once every month to a month and a half. Some committees hold meetings entirely online, while others adopt a hybrid format of in-person and online, allowing participation regardless of county or city. Conditions vary by committee, and the Secretariat assists in compiling agendas. However, there is often a need for division of labor in researching cases and foreign legal systems. Regardless of whether tasks are assigned, members can offer suggestions and brainstorm based on their own education and professional experience. We sincerely invite all passionate attorney friends to join our ranks!
