Lo Ming-ts'un was originally a police officer charged with enforcing the law and maintaining public order. He never imagined that one day he would become the subject of investigation and prosecution by other law enforcement agencies, and eventually be found guilty by the court of accepting a NT$500,000 bribe from organized crime, shielding the real perpetrator of a shooting, and allowing a juvenile to take the fall... However, this case is actually a miscarriage of justice for the following reasons:

  1. There is no physical evidence; the conviction relies primarily on testimony obtained through improper interrogation.
  2. Lo Ming-ts'un has an alibi for the time the court determined he met with the briber.
  3. The lie detector test report used by the court as corroborating evidence for the conviction is flawed.

Lo Ming-ts'un was convicted in the first and second instances, but the third instance set aside the judgment and remanded the case. In the first retrial, he successfully secured an acquittal. The turning point of this reversal was that the first retrial court examined the video recordings of the investigation station's interrogation and lie detector test, prompting the court to confront the flaws in the interrogation and lie detector processes.

Following the judgment of the first retrial, Lo Ming-ts'un initially believed that the prosecutor had appealed past the deadline and that his acquittal was final. Unexpectedly, the Supreme Court set aside the judgment and remanded the case, and the second retrial court completely disregarded evidence favorable to Lo Ming-ts'un, once again convicting him. Ultimately, Lo Ming-ts'un's final appeal to the Supreme Court was dismissed, finalizing his conviction.

Lo Ming-ts'un continues to proclaim his innocence to this day, and his legal team is currently seeking a review by the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office Review Committee for Finalized Conviction Cases.
